Ingredients
- 2 T. butter, melted in pan

- 6 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 tsp. vanilla
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- Rum Sauce:
- 2/3 cups sugar
- 1 T. cornstarch
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 3/4 cup cold water
- 1 T. butter
- 1/4 cup rum
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Method
Step 1
Using a 2 litre/7x11" glass dish, place bread cubes over melted butter.
Step 2
In a medium bowl, blend eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon. Pour evenly over bread cubes.
Step 3
Bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes or until firm in center. Serve warm with Rum Sauce, which may be prepared while pudding is baking.
Step 4
Rum Sauce: in a small saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, salt and water. Heat until thickened, stirring often. Remove from heat and add butter, rum and vanilla. Keep warm until ready to serve.
