Ingredients

  • 1 Baguette, sliced into 1/4" slices (gluten free if desired)
  • 4 tablespoons walnut oil
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, toasted and chopped (or other nuts of choice)
  • 8 ounces Blue Cheese crumbles
  • 2 tablespoons shallots, minced
  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries, "craisins"

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place slices of bread on baking sheet, then brush with walnut oil. Bake until toasted, about 5 minutes.

Step 2

Mix walnuts, cheese, shallots and craisins in a bowl. Place a dollop onto each bread slice. Bake until cheese begins to melt, about 4 minutes.

Step 3

Serve warm. Leftover tip - you may find there is more topping than bread, which is not a problem! Use it the next evening over pasta for dinner and serve with a green salad. It is so good!
