Streusel Topping makes this Apple Pie a Winner
Ingredients
For the Crust: In a medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, cinnamon and salt. Using 2 knives or a pastry blender, cut butter into flour mixture until it resembles coarse meal. Add water and toss mixture gently with fork until evenly moistened. Press mixture into a ball. Transfer to a lightly floured board and, with a rolling pin, roll into a circle slightly larger than a deep 10-inch pie plate. Gently ease pastry into pan and flute edge, if desired. Set aside. For the Pie Filling: Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In a large bowl, combine apples, sour cream, sugar, flour, egg, vanilla and salt and mix well. Spoon mixture into prepared crust. Bake 10 minutes. Cover edges of crust with foil to avoid burning. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees and continue baking until filling is slightly puffy and golden brown, about 40 minutes. For Topping: While pie is baking, prepare topping. In a medium bowl, combine walnuts, flour, oats, sugars, cinnamon and salt and mix well. Blend in butter until mixture is crumbly. Spoon over pie and bake 15 minutes longer. Cool five minutes or until ready to enjoy.Method
