Soak poppy seeds in buttermilk overnight. The next day, cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs. Stir in orange zest, vanilla and salt. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder and soda. Alternately, add soaked poppy seeds and flour mixture to butter mixture until all combined, mixing until smooth. Pour into prepared bundt cake pan (sprayed with nonstick spray and sprinkled with sugar) and bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes, until a cake tester (or toothpick) comes out clean when inserted into center of cake. Cool on cooling rack, then invert onto cake serving plate.Method
