Happy 2021 with these zippy peppers! I found the grilling basket (with lid) that is used here at Williams Sonoma. What is a Shishito Pepper you ask? It is an East Asian Pepper that is mildly spicy. When you least expect it, a spicier one will sneak in and surprise you in a good way. I stumbled across them at Safeway and had to snag a bag, in case you are at a loss as to where to begin your search.

Ingredients

  • 8-ounces shishito peppers, washed
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil spray
  • "Everything" Seasoning - found at Costco and Trader Joe's (sesame seeds, salt, garlic, onion, black sesame seeds, poppy seeds combo)

Method

Step 1

Heat grill to 400 degrees. Place peppers in a medium bowl. Spray with EVOO until lightly covered. Then sprinkle Everything Seasoning until lightly covered, mixing well.

Step 2

Place grill basket on a round tray and pour peppers into basket. Secure lid. Grill peppers for 8-10 minutes, turning every couple of minutes. Peppers are finished when slightly charred but not burned.
